How Poople builds and checks its puzzles

The current playable graph contains 5,395 connected four-letter words. From that graph, Poople keeps 427 curated Daily starts and 889 Unlimited practice starts. These are project-generated data sets, not copied answer feeds.

The generator normalizes source words, keeps only four-letter entries, removes a blocked set from the playable graph, and separates valid bridge words from words suitable for a public puzzle start. A breadth-first search verifies that every scheduled start reaches POOP and records the shortest distance.

Daily starts stay in a four-to-nine-move window. Unlimited practice also includes three-move starts. Route counts and displayed paths are calculated against the same local graph used to validate player guesses.

Use the archive as a route data set

The answer archive is now the single historical reference instead of a large family of near-identical detail pages. Each entry records the puzzle number, date, start, target, difficulty, shortest move count, route count, and a collapsible shortest path.

Use recent entries to compare openings or move to older archive pages to look for recurring bridge patterns. The archive is ordered by publication date and keeps all published daily puzzles available without turning each row into a separate template page.

Read the first-party data report

The statistics report turns the current generated graph into a reviewed reference with route-length distributions, hard-start examples, interpretation notes, and explicit limitations.
